Notice to Customers: Website Data Loss and System Rebuild
Dear Customers,
I want to personally explain what happened with our recent website outage and data loss.
During a planned upgrade, I replaced the server’s traditional hard drive (HDD) with a new Solid-State Drive (SSD) to improve performance and reliability. The goal was to migrate all existing data to the new drive without interruption.
However, during the cloning process — the step where all data is copied from the old drive to the new one — the transfer froze at 42% and would not continue, even after many hours of troubleshooting. This indicated that the old hard drive had developed corruption, meaning parts of the data were unreadable and unrecoverable.
Unfortunately, this corruption affected critical portions of the website files and databases, resulting in a total loss of the original website data. Despite multiple recovery attempts, the corrupted sectors could not be restored.
What’s Being Done Now
- The server is now fully rebuilt on a new SSD, which provides much faster speed, stability, and efficiency.
- I’ve also added a GeForce RTX 3080 (12GB) GPU to enhance AI and data processing performance for future services.
- The website and all associated applications are being rebuilt from scratch to ensure everything runs cleanly and securely.
- Going forward, I’m setting up a dedicated backup server and off-site backup process to ensure this kind of data loss never happens again.
What This Means for You
Our website and systems may look different or be temporarily limited while I finish rebuilding everything. Once complete, you’ll notice faster load times, improved reliability, and access to the latest app versions.
I deeply appreciate your patience and understanding during this rebuild. This setback has been tough, but it’s also an opportunity to build a stronger, faster, and more resilient system for everyone.
